The kids are in school again!

That was a fast summer and just about all the kids are back in school.  The neighborhoods are quiet during the day, the light has changed and as the weather cools the colors warm.  So beautiful.  And naturally it is a great time to get the windows cleaned.  The next couple of months will be filled with beautiful days where we will want our windows open wide to let the autumn breezes flow through our homes and offices.   With open windows it is a pity to have them dirty as we enjoy the feeling of the outdoors coming in.   Finally the hot temps are leaving us, so as we turn off our swamp coolers and air conditioning our dirty screens and windows will look amazing after a thorough cleaning.

We look forward to hearing from you during this beautiful autumn season.

New Construction Window Cleaning

We get a lot of phone calls asking for estimates on new construction window cleaning, but we do not service new construction.  There is a simple explanation to why we don’t clean new construction.  First of all, almost all new construction windows require scraping to get off the stucco, concrete, silicone, paint and stain left over by sloppy construction.  Glass companies make it VERY clear that taking razor blades to windows voids the warranty on the glass.  We will not do it.  Since we are the last to touch the window, if there is a scratch, guess who gets blamed, even if it was the stucco guy smearing his gritty rag across the window trying to get off the massive blob of stucco he just blopped on the glass.  The window cleaner always gets the blame, even when there might be defective glass.  If a razor is taken to the glass the warranty is void.  The risk versus reward is simply not in our favor.

And secondly, we have always had to chase down the contractor who hired us for payment.   It is not worth the hassle.

Back to School

Well, not quite, but my kids only have 2 weeks left of summer and I can’t believe it.  This summer has flown by - they just got out of school and here they are heading back.  Absolutely nuts.  I don’t know why, but as crazy as it is I like to start the school year fresh and clean and organized just like my children.  So, oddly enough clean windows and gutters are a lovely thing to have done right before the kids go back.  Plus I’ll deep clean my house so when I drop off my kids I can kick back if only for 1 cup of coffee and thoroughly enjoy the clean and the quiet.

Window and Gutter Cleaning

Many people wonder when are the best times of year to get your windows and gutters cleaned.  The best answer we can give is to have your windows and gutters cleaned when they need it.  After the leaves fall in the autumn is a good time to have gutters cleaned.  Many people have their gutters cleaned in the spring so that the rains aren’t a problem.  But depending on your landscaping, you may need your gutters cleaned every other month or once a year.  If you have trees overhanging every gutter, you will need them cleaned far more often than the new home with baby trees.

As for window cleaning, the mountain communities often wait until the pollen has stopped blowing.  In the metro area, there doesn’t seem to be a need like that, but people generally do like to start spring out with clean windows and then have them cleaned again for special occasions.  The holdiays of course and parties etc.  The bottom line though is that there is no “right” time to get your windows and gutters cleaned.  Have them cleaned when they need it.

Independence Day

The 4th of July is definitely one of my favorite holidays.  Homemade icecream, illegal fireworks in the street (just kidding) and great company.  Not to mention, my house gets an overhaul before a party.  I have come to realize that it takes a party or my mother in law coming to visit that gets the house super duper beautiful - baseboards, windows and all the stuff in between.  We are booked out about 2.5 weeks, so think ahead to get your windows cleaned before the 4th.  Give us a call.

Window Cleaning in the Wind

How do we get anything done in this wind???  It is not easy.  It is also not safe to be up on rooftops and ladders when the wind is blowing at 50 mph.  Please bear with us.  We can only do what we can do when the wind is blowing the water off your windows before we can squeegee them and slapping branches against them as we try to clean them as well.  We know there are lots of graduation parties in the next couple weeks.   All we can do is our best and hope mother nature settles down a little.  Thank you for your patience.

Spring is here…

and our schedule is filling up quickly.  This time of year we ask that you plan a little bit ahead for your window cleaning.  With graduation parties and summer gatherings you might want to plan a couple weeks in advance.  May is a very busy month for us which is great, but we also want to be able to accomodate our customers and be able to get your windows cleaned before your events.

Muddy Rain in Denver

I have heard of acid rain, but mud rain is something I have never really seen before.  Apparently a storm carrying dirt and dust from the southwest dumped on us here in Denver leaving a coating of dirt on everything including all of our windows.  What a mess.  We have had a lot of calls regarding the extra dirty windows we all seem to have and we’ve been busy cleaning up after this storm.  Give us a call and we can take care of your windows as well.

Warm and Windy

Often in spring, with the warmth comes wind.  Today just happens to be ridiculously windy though we will hit temps of near 80 degrees.  It makes it hard to accomplish much outdoors when things are blowing around so intensely.  As for window and gutter cleaning - it makes for a much harder, longer day.  We must be extra cautious with putting up ladders and climbling on roofs.  It also can be next to impossible to clean a window with the water blowing off as fast as we can put it on.  So, please bear with our cleaners and understand that if they need to stop the job and reschedule it is for safety reasons.  They may be able to complete the service just fine, working fervently in the moments between gusts, but it is possible they will simply need to come back.  We ask for your understanding and flexibility on days like this, as we want our cleaners and your property to remain intact.
